Villa Petra
Italy, Sicily, Scopello
Villa Petra, set like a “precious stone” opens and develops following the sweetness of the territory that slopes down to the sea with the blue and clear waters of the bay of “Guidaloca” and “Scopello”. The view is certainly breathtaking, in fact its view dominates the valley below and the gaze stretches to capture the beauty of the Gulf of Castellammare.

It is accessed from the large and bright living room that protrudes on the beautiful veranda where you can enjoy a verdant view and in full relaxation you can eat meals in the shade of the majestic “carob”, the typical trees of the Mediterranean.
The villa is on two levels, upstairs there is the living area and the kitchen. Two bedrooms, one double and one twin and the bathroom. A particular spiral staircase leads to the lower floor where there is a large and comfortable double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. This room has a double sofa bed that can accomodate two more guests. This room can also be reached from outside the house, through a comfortable staircase and this gives a particular privacy to those who stay there. The furnishings embellish the residence making it elegant and refined at the same time. Peace and sobriety emanates from the house and this is understood by those who are hosted.
Externally villa Petra is organized following the natural terraces and each “terrace” has been enhanced through the use and placement of elements that make the house unique, such as the magnificent swimming pool with sea view, the comfortable solarium and the various gazebos to enjoy moments of healthy relaxation. In another area of the garden we find the Jacuzzi, intimate motion, made so by the nature that surrounds it.
Petra is a unique place, as the property has been carefully maintained and all outdoor spaces present opportunities for recreation and leisure, such as the tennis court that the villa has. The field is also equipped with a basketball hoops. Among the many moments dedicated to relaxation and sport, even the table tennis table, will give these possibilities to those who live in the house.
Finally, to “tease” the throat, the villa has an outdoor kitchen with barbecue and wood oven for the preparation of tasty dishes.
Situated in the northwest of Sicily, Grotticelli- Petra is well-place for discovering the wealth of attractions that the area has to offer. The charming hamlet of Scopello, with its authentic old baglio, has a couple of good restaurants, a few bars, a scuba diving club, and a smattering of shops, including a superb delicatessen, wine shop and greengrocers just below. The extremely evocative setting of Scopello’s old tuna plant is a great spot for swimming and snorkelling, as are the nearby pebble beach and lidos of Guidaloca. Lo Zingaro Nature Reserve is a 15-minute drive away and offers a range of spectacular walks and some beautiful crystal clear bays for swimming. The nearby town of Castellammare del Golfo has a good selection of seafront bars and restaurants, a daily fish market, plenty of shops and a long sandy beach with lidos. The spectacular Elymian/Greek site of Segesta is about 20 minutes drive away and Erice, Palermo, Trapani and Selinunte can all be reached in under an hour.
